Who's Your Aesthetician?

Hi ya'll!

If there's one thing I like to do before going to a new service provider (be it beauty or anything else!), it's get to know them. I'm 100% the person that will look for everything I can find on my provider. Reviews, professional social media, websites, all of it. I can't be the only one can I?

Why esthetics?

I have always loved skincare... at least from the moment I realized it existed. I've also always had a passion for helping people. In 2021 I was working in healthcare and realized that, while I did love my patients, healthcare just wasn't for me. It was at this point that I decided to give the beauty industry a try and fell in love.

What education do you have?

Based on the answer above, you can probably guess that my post-secondary education was a bit all over the place. In the end, I graduated with a diploma in health studies, and received my medical aesthetics certificate shortly afterwards.

Do you have a specialty?

Yes, I do! My specialties were something that I went into my esthetics training knowing I wanted to do to fill a gap in the field. I currently specialize in skin of colour and age management.

Do you treat conditions you don't specialize in?

Again, yes, I do! I have had the privilege to work with an acne specialist learning a lot along the way. While acne or a variety of other conditions aren't my specialty, I do have the training to treat these conditions effectively.

What is a holistic medical aesthetician?

Fun fact! Holistic Medical Aesthetician isn't a title, but it is how I approach my practice. Approaching medical aesthetics with a holistic mindset means that I ensure we are healing your skin from the inside out. Notice the term 'we'? You and I work together to reach your goals, bringing in other practitioners as needed. Your skin is your largest organ and is a reflection of what is going on inside your body.

What is your favourite treatment to perform?

I love love love the Custom Facial with Add on Dermaplaning. Dermaplaning gets rid of all your vellus hair and dead skin cells in the treatment area, and the custom facial helps treat any conditions that you may be dealing with that day. While instant results are not a realistic goal for anyone, this pair definitely has you leaving my treatment room glowing and refreshed.
